A NEW charity football team has launched in Chester – and is on the lookout for more players and teams to take on.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd Charity Football Club is a new fundraising team for the hospice, based in Backford, Chester.

Set up as by Darren Hawes and a group of his friends as a way of repaying the hospice for the support they have showed to family members, the team is looking to add to their player pool and arrange small-sided fixtures against local works teams/charity sides.

The team says it has made good steady progress and currently has a small team of players, a kit and a badge kindly supplied by designers John Wyle and Dan Spridgeon at Spectra Media.

A few extra players and opposition are now sought.

Anyone interested in joining the club or arranging a game is urged to email dhawes280386@gmail.com.
