CONCERNS have been raised regarding a planning application for a children's home near Malpas.

The application is for a change of use for Park View, a five bedroom home in Cholmondeley Road from a typical residential home (Class C3) to residential care home (Class C2).

The plans have been lodged by Compass Children’s Homes, under the company name Compass Community Ltd, who operate several children's care homes around the country.

No Man's Heath Parish Council have suggested that the planning application be put to Cheshire West and Chester's planning committee, because of a number of concerns.

These concerns are that there is a lack of street lighting or pavement in Cholmondeley Road, there is no nearby public transport and the location is lacking any sort of amenities or activities for youth, with Malpas being more than two miles away.

The clerk of No Man's Heath Parish Council, Ruth Shackleton, also added that she had concerns regarding the suitability of the location or how great the need is in the area.

The application is currently awaiting a decision from Cheshire West's planning committee
