TENANTS of MHA Callin Court are having a magical Christmas with Claudia Godinez, their activity co-ordinator, who has been creating and building great relationships with Chester’s community.

With the assistance of Claudia, tenants at the retirement living apartments are enjoying a varied programme of meaningful activities for their residents, empowering, supporting and guiding each resident to their own ability to participate and achieve their goals.

MHA have the inter-generational collaboration of Headstart-on-the-Hill Nursery on St Mary's Hill, a primary school, a few students from GCSE and sixth form, as well as the University of Chester and older people as part of their long list of volunteers.

A spokesperson for MHA Callin Court said: "As the year is coming to an end, we want to show appreciation to those who participate with MHA Callin Court.

"A special thanks to the nursery Headstart-on-the-Hill who, jointly with our scheme, four months ago, have been working to delight our tenants with their lovely freshness and cuteness.

"To our lovely PAT Dog Ruby and her great and friendly handler Karen, who is such a brilliant addition to our team. She and her dog do make a difference in our tenants’ lives.

"Having the University of Chester working with us to create diversity and to prevent loneliness with a pen pal program and craft activities.

"Performance Pathways are delighting our tenants with their great staging in art, music, poetry, dancing and extreme creativity.

"A volunteer programme, where each one of our volunteers create a relationship with our tenants providing an informal yet social support, to increase involvement in community activities reducing the social isolation and promoting independence.

"Thank you Dulce for running the watercolour and art programme for over a year now and, Isabel with your knowledge on so many games.

"Both make an amazing difference in our tenants' lives.

"And to Ester, one of our tenant’s daughters, who recently delighted us with her creativity, doing Christmas cards and Christmas centrepieces which by the way look amazing in our tables.

"And there are too many others, we are so grateful for all your support.

"Thank you all for working alongside Claudia Godinez doing such a great work, at involving the community to enrich and bring quality to live later life well at MHA Callin Court."
