AIRBUS has warned of traffic disruption near its Broughton site as it transports large crane beams between its West and East factories on Thursday, December 19.

The four beams will be transported one at a time along Manor Lane to the main factory on Chester Road between 9am and midday and 2pm and 4pm; each move is likely to take 45 minutes.

The abnormal-load movements, which have been agreed with Flintshire County Council, the Highways Agency and North Wales Police, are to allow for the newly constructed beams to be installed in the company’s East Factory during the Christmas shutdown.

Phil McGraa, Airbus Community Relations Manager, said: “The team carrying out the transportation of the beams will aim to keep disruption to a minimum while ensuring the operation is carried out safely. We apologise for any inconvenience to road users.”

Airbus said letters have been sent to local residents living along the route.
