LIFEBOAT and coastguard teams were called out following reports of a vessel adrift in the River Dee.

Just after 12.50pm on Saturday, Flint Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked by UK Coastguard to reports of a "drifting vessel" in the River Dee between Greenfield and Bagillt.

On arrival at Greenfield Dock, two local fisherman confirmed they had seen the vessel and had launched their boat to recover it, a coastguard spokesman said.

They the reported bringing it back to a secure mooring at Greenfield.

Once this was done, all relevant information was passed to Holyhead Coastguard Operations Centre and they were happy for the team to stand down.

Flint R.N.L.I Lifeboat Station was also tasked but was stood down prior to launch.

A spokesman for the lifeboat station added: "The lifeboat made way to Greenfield dock ready to launch.

"On arrival, the lifeboat was stood down after the vessel had been made safe by another fishing vessel."
