A CHESTER choir has given a hospice a much-needed early Christmas present thanks to funds raised at two of its concerts this year.
During their highly successful Christmas concert, held recently at All Saint's Church in Hoole, members of Chester Male Voice Choir whose motto is "Sing, Inspire, Support" were delighted to present Claire House Children's Hospice with a cheque for £1,127.
The cheque was presented to Mags Corran of the hospice by choir chairman John Walsh.
Speaking about the choir's fundraising activities during 2019, John said: "Claire House is one of our two very worthy chosen charities for 2019.
"We raised the money through bucket collections during performances and the sale of souvenir programmes at our two sold out Town Hall concerts held earlier this year and as always, we would like to thank our supporters for giving so generously in support of the two charities.
"On 21 December we can be found singing carols and collecting for our second charity, Chester Samaritans in Waitrose in Boughton at mid-day and the Grosvenor Shopping Centre in Chester city centre from 1.30pm.”
