A HORSE had to be rescued by firefighters after it became stuck in a septic tank near Chester.
The unfortunate nag had managed to get its rear legs wedged in the tank at Capenhurst Lane sparking the emergency response at around 12.15am on Friday (November 22).
Four fire engines attended the scene- from Powey Lane, Lymm, Knutsford and Bollington - as well as the technical rescue unit from Lymm and the animal rescue unit from Bollington.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Unit said: "The horse was sedated by a vet before being removed from the tank by the rescue teams. Firefighters then assisted the horse in assessing the horse.
"The animal regained consciousness and was standing up before being taken to a horse hospital. Firefighters were in attendance for around two hours."
