CHESHIRE police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a burglary incident in Calveley, between Nantwich and Tarporley.

At around 12.30am on Friday (November 22) two men entered a business premises that is under construction on Nantwich Road.

They stripped copper piping from the building and fled in the direction of The Chantry estate.

A 25-year-old man from Merseyside has been arrested in connection with the incident.

He is currently being questioned by officers.

Other enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone with any information or footage that may help their investigation to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Steven Smith, who is leading the investigation into the incident, said: “Burglary is a serious offence and we are determined to establish who was responsible for stripping the copper piping from the business premises in Calveley.

“Enquiries are ongoing and I urge anyone who was in the area and believes that they may have seen the two men, either before they entered the premises or as they were fleeing the scene, to get in touch.

“We believe that one of the men may have been injured when he left the building.

“We also want to hear from any motorists with dashcams who were driving in the area before 1am and believes they may have footage of the offenders.”
