THE Craft Club at All Saints Church, Hoole, has something very exciting to show off this Christmas.
Member Sofia De San Nicolas inspired the group with images and videos of a hand-crocheted Christmas tree she had seen created in her home country of Italy.
It was created in the main piazza in Trivento and stood more than six-metres high, with more than 1,300 crocheted squares handmade by local women.
Fellow member Rachel Collier said: "We were all amazed by the beauty of the Trivento tree and Sofia encouraged our group to do something similar within craft club. Some of us already knew how to crochet, some helped to teach others, some took time to learn, each of us tried to contribute to the making of our own tree with ideas and even tea-making!"
The resulting tree will be displayed at All Saints Church from Saturday.
