AIR cadets from 1074 (Ellesmere Port) Squadron took to the virtual skies as part of their glider training on Sunday (November 17).

They joined 1175 Prenton Squadron RAFAC and 1026 Ormskirk Air Cadets at 632 Volunteer Gliding Squadron at RAF Ternhill.

Unfortunately, low cloud cover meant the cadets were unable to fly in the glider and gain their Blue Wings.

But the youngsters still managed a full day of activities including ground-based training and manoeuvres on the 'Vigilant Glider' allowing them to fly on the next available opportunity.

The Cadets ended the day with a visit to the hangars and to the Air Traffic Control Tower before being presented with their certificates for passing the Cadet Aviation Familiarisation Course, the first stage in the Cadet Aviation Syllabus.
