A 25-YEAR-old woman has admitted a series of fraud offences following a police probe into the murder of a disabled man.
Chantel Gibson, of Maelor Place, Ruabon, maintained the initial setting up of internet banking and payments to her were with 67-year-old Nicholas Churton’s consent, magistrates at Mold heard. The swindles then began, said her solicitor Andrew Holliday.
Prosecutor Robert Blakemore said the basis of her guilty pleas needed to be considered.
Gibson was bailed until next week.
She pleaded guilty to four frauds in 2016. They involved making fraudulent applications in his name, moving funds and obtaining overdrafts to gain £8,480, making false claims to the Halifax, and setting up betting accounts in the pensioner’s name.
She also admitted acquiring or possessing criminal property, namely money taken from Mr Churton’s Nationwide account.
Mr Churton was killed in 2017 by Jordan Davidson.
