FIVE candidates will be competing for residents' votes in each Cheshire West constituency in next month's General Election.

Labour, the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party will all be fielding candidates for the City of Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston, Eddisbury and Weaver Vale seats.

The Brexit Party will be standing in all Labour-held seats – City of Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston, and Weaver Vale – but not in Eddisbury, as part of Nigel Farage's plan to stand down all Brexit Party candidates in Tory-held seats.

However, Farage's former party UKIP will be standing in the Eddisbury constituency.
