A BURGLAR has been jailed over a break-in at a Chester buffet restaurant.
William Forsyth, 50, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at Chester Magistrates Court on Monday, November 11 to burglary at the Panda Mami restaurant on Newgate Street.
Previously, Stephen Sailes, 43, had pleaded guilty at the same court on Thursday, October 31 to a lesser offence of stealing alcohol at the restaurant.
The charges relate to a break-in at around midnight on Monday, September 23.
Forsyth and Sailes were both arrested on Raymond Street in Chester at about 1am on Friday, September 27.
Forsyth was jailed for four months and ordered to pay £360 compensation.
Sailes, of Raymond Street – who was on bail for other thefts at the time of the offence – was handed a four-month prison sentence, suspended for two years and ordered to pay £360 compensation, a £122 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
He was also placed on a 12-month community order with 35 days of a rehabilitation activity requirement and a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement.
