FIREFIGHTERS have been called to River Lane, Saltney, after a lorry spilled cooking oil over the road.
The crews from Chester and Mollington were called to River Lane at 1.45pm today (Thursday, November 7) after reports that a lorry had shed its load.
Several gallon drums fell on to the road and, as a result about 140 litres of cooking oil, spilled over the road surface.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire & Rescue said: "Firefighters used specialist equipment to soak up the oil and prevent the oil from entering the drains, the also cleared all of the damaged containers from the roadway.
"Crews were in attendance at the scene for around 40 minutes."
