PORT cadets were called into service to keep people save at the town's bonfire and fireworks display.

This year’s display on Friday night hosted by Ellesmere Port Lions in Whitby Park was supported by the Royal Air Force Air Cadets and Staff from 1074 (Ellesmere Port) Squadron alongside the Sea and Marine Cadets from T.S. Forward. The cadets and staff came to support the event in marshalling the perimeter around the display area and with some of the dismantling at the end.

Chester and District Standard:

The event included a wide variety of stalls, rides and other activities with much fun being had by all who came from Ellesmere Port and the surrounding areas for this popular annual event.

Chester and District Standard:

Despite the wet weather, the Air Cadets were keen to continue their long involvement with this annual event in support of the people of Ellesmere Port. There is a long history of involvement between local businesses and civic organisations with Royal Air Force Air Cadets to assist in the running of such public events with this being an excellent example of one such event in Ellesmere Port.

Chester and District Standard:

The Royal Air Force Air Cadets is open to all young people ages 12 (Year 8) to 18 and offers the opportunity for cadets to experience many areas including flying, gliding, target shooting, leadership, The Duke of Edinburgh Award, and visits and camps to active RAF Stations across Europe.
