AN independent craft butchers are celebrating success at this year’s UK Sausage Week Awards.

Baker & Roberts - an independent butchery with shops in Manley in Cheshire and Penyffordd in Flintshire - beat hundreds of entries in the national competition to be awarded the title of the most innovative sausage in the North West with their tropical twist sausage - a flavoursome blend of local pork, passion fruit and basil.

Picking up their award at a ceremony held at Butchers Hall in London, co-founder Jamie Baker commented on the rapid success of the small business.

He said: “We expanded by opening our second shop just six months ago and since then we have gone from strength to strength. This award win is testament to the hard work the whole team put into bringing our customers the very best products and service.”

Jamie and his co-partner Mark Roberts have a combined experience of over 50 years working in the butchery trade.

Jamie added: “We are ecstatic to have the most innovative sausage in the North West and we are very much looking forward to this special flavour being available to all of our lovely customers from this week.”

Baker & Roberts’ award-winning tropical twist sausage will on sale in-store and available to order on their website from October 29.
