A MAN who threatened to “murder a woman's family and slit her throat” has been jailed for six months.
Sam Lee Knowles breached a restraining order for the fourth time this year when he made the threats to Rebecca Ellis in Wepre Park.
A witness had followed the pair into the woods because he was concerned by the way Knowles was behaving.
Prosecutor Rhian Jones told North East Wales Magistrates’ Court that he heard Knowles tell Ms Ellis: "If I'm with your family again, I will murder the lot of them and I'm going to slit your f***ing throat."
Knowles, 22, of Maes Y Coed, Saltney was arrested and in court he admitted breaching a restraining order prohibiting him from contacting Ms Ellis which was imposed in October 2017.
He also pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour in Wepre Park on September 14 this year.
Emma Simoes, defending, asked the magistrates to impose a community sentence and order Knowles to go on a relationship course.
But the magistrates agreed the offences were too serious for a non-custodial sentence.
