POLICE are appealing for information after four fires were started at an allotment in Ellesmere Port.
Fire crews from Mollington and Ellesmere Port attended the scene in Great Sutton just after 9pm last night (Tuesday, October 22).
The location of the fires meant it was hard for the crews to get access.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival the crews discovered four areas of waste well alight at an allotment.
"A water supply was established to get enough water to the area, which was difficult to access.
"Firefighters used the water to extinguish the four seats of fire and were in attendance for around an hour.
"The fires are believed to have been started deliberately."
Anyone with information about the fires should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 545812, give the details via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
