A SCOUT group marked its 110th anniversary with a special celebration for members past and present.
First Chirk Scout Group held the birthday party at the Scout Hut with members of the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all present.
To mark the special occasion, the group also revealed a new design for its necker, which was presented to all current members. The new design retains the black and yellow of the old necker, along with the new colour green.
One of the group’s leaders, Richard Colbourne, treated the audience to a slideshow featuring pictures from throughout its history.
Photographs and videos also showed the group’s more recent activities and adventures, including camps and various days out such as a trip to Zip World in North Wales this summer.
The event also featured games, quizzes and hot food prepared by leaders and volunteers.
The group meets at Chirk Bunkhouse every Tuesday from 6.15pm during term time for youngsters aged six to 14. For more details on the group, contact Group Scout Leader Rachel Owen at info@1stchirk.org.uk
