FLINT Coastguard Team have sent their condolences to the family of a man who was found in the River Mersey after extensive searches took place this week.
Merseyside Police have confirmed that the body found in Otterspool on Thursday, October 10, is sadly that of missing man Thomas Cook, who had dementia.
Mr Cook, who is 76 and from the Liverpool area, was last seen at around 3pm on Monday, 7 October wearing a grey Nike tracksuit, walking boots, a black body warmer and black glasses.
A spokesman said: “Flint, Wirral and Crosby Coastguard Rescue Teams send their deepest condolences to Mr Cook’s family and friends, our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.”
