DETECTIVES investigating a robbery at a supermarket in Ellesmere Port have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Shortly after 11pm on Sunday, August 25, a man entered the Tesco store in Sutton Way and threatened staff.

He then picked up a crate of beer and left the store without paying for it.

The man pushed two members of staff out of his way as he left the store.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives believe that the man in the CCTV images may have vital information to aid their investigation.

They are urging anyone who recognises him or thinks they may know who he is to get in touch.

Detective Constable Phill Hunt, of Ellesmere Port CID, said: “We believe that the man in the CCTV images may have important information to help with our investigation into the robbery.

“If you think you recognise the man or know who he is please call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 496635, give us the details via www.cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the CCTV images to get in touch.”
