FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a blaze in a bin storage area.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call just after 5.30pm on Saturday reporting a fire alarm activation at Nant Peris tower block in Blacon.
Two crews attended the scene - one each from Chester and Powey Lane.
A fire service spokesman said: "At around 5.30pm firefighters were notified of a fire alarm activation at Nant Peris tower block in Blacon.
"On arrival crews discovered there had been a fire in a bin storage area which had been quickly extinguished by the sprinkler system prior to the arrival of firefighters.
"Crews removed the affected bin from the storage area and used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hotspots.
"The scene was then handed over to a representative from the housing trust."
