THIEVES broke into a house in Ellesmere Port and stole a safe containing cash, passports and personal documents.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the burglary, which happened on Sutton Way between 10.30am and 2.40pm on Monday, September 30.
DC Iain Ross said: “Even though the victims were not at home at the time they are particularly shaken up by the burglary which goes to show that this type of crime is not just about having items stolen, it takes a significant emotional toll on a person.
“I would urge anyone with information about the burglary or who may have seen a small digital safe discarded to contact police to help us find those responsible.”
Anyone with information should contact DC Iain Ross on 101 or via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries/ quoting IML 527083.
Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers.
