BUDDING fundraisers looking to support the hospice of the Good Shepherd in Backford are being invited to find out more about a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

There will be an information evening on Thursday, October 10 at the hospice about a superb 2020 cycle challenge from Vietnam To Cambodia.

Fundraisers will cycle off the beaten track away from the tourist trail and explore the real Vietnam and Cambodia, going 383km from the frenzy of Ho Chi Minh to the tranquility of Angkor Wat.

There will be bustling coconut groves and thriving river communities at the heart of the Mekong Delta and the stilted villages and mysterious temples of Angkor.

The hospice is holding a free information evening October 10 from 6pm in the hospice café where Dan from local company Global Adventures – organisers of the event – will be on hand to answer questions and explain what is involved.

Alison Dunbar, donor development co-ordinator, said: “This is an exciting once-in-a-lifetime trip and your chance to experience South Asia at its best!

“This challenge is suitable for anyone with a great sense of adventure; whether you are taking part as an individual or a team with friends, team spirit will be flying high on this challenge!”

“If you’re interested, please come to our information evening where you’ll be able to ask questions and learn more about the challenge.”

To book your place for the information evening, call 01244 851 811 or email alison.dunbar@hospicegs.com.
