A THREE-vehicle collision which blocked part of the M56 has been cleared, it has been confirmed.
Cheshire Police stated just before 5.15pm on Wednesday that the road had become blocked eastbound between junction junction14 at Hapsford and junction 12 near Sutton Weaver.
A police spokesman said: "Patrols at a three vehicle RTC.
"Avoid the area if possible, road is blocked."
Highways England announced shortly after 6pm that the scene had been cleared and all lanes had been reopened.
Traffic in and out of Chester - in particular along Wrexham Road - was heavy during the incident.
