SLIMMERS from Upton are aiming to paint the town gold as they celebrate Slimming World’s 50th birthday this month.

Parties are being held in all 19,000 Slimming World groups to celebrate the weight-loss organisation's milestone anniversary.

Upton's members have plenty to celebrate, having lost 629st between them since January this year, and all are invited to join them and celebrate the golden occasion.

As part of the celebrations, the Slimming World group will be raising money for a charity close to members' hearts, Macmillan Cancer Support.

Members will be enjoying a delicious Slimming World feast, as slimmers will each be bringing along a Slimming World-friendly dish packed with ‘Free Food’, which members can enjoy freely on the healthy eating plan to satisfy their appetite.

'Free Foods' include pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat, fruit and veg, fish and eggs and members can enjoy dishes and snacks like curries, meatballs, kebabs, scotch eggs and frittata.

There will also be cakes and sweets, all available for donations to Macmillan.

Plus, there will be lots of raffles and some amazing prizes donated by local businesses to be won at each of the sessions being run on the day.

The event is being held on Wednesday, September 25 at 8am, 10am, noon, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm at Upton British Legion, Heath Road, Upton, CH2 1HX.

If you’d like to attend either turn up on the day or contact Steph 07506 688868. There is disabled access and everyone is welcome.
