THOUSANDS of people from across the area braved the rain to celebrate the annual Chester Pride festival on Sunday (September 22).
Originally due to take place in August, the event had to be cancelled due to predicted high winds.
But luckily it was just the odd shower that threatened to but a dampener on proceedings this time round – and the city’s LGBT+ community and supporters were never going to let that happen.
The streets were awash with all the colours of the rainbow as the parade snaked through the centre from Castle Square.
Later on, the likes Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, Hazell Dean, Whigfield and Kelly Wilde were all due to perform on the main stage.
The city’s pubs, bars and restaurants all embraced the spirit of Pride – as they do every year – and revellers were expected to party well into the night.
