CLIMATE protestors forming Extinction Rebellion Warrington have confirmed further action after targetting the town hall last weekend.

On Saturday, members of the group met in front of Warrington Town Hall to renew their commitment to action in the face of climate change and the ecological damage threatening the planet.

They marched slowly from the Golden Gates whilst ringing a bell to 'signify the death of life on earth'.

The co-ordinator, Paul Sheeky, read the Extinction Rebellion ‘Declaration of Rebellion’ before posting it to the town hall doors.

It calls on the Government to act to find solutions to climate change and for citizens to join together in the Extinction Rebellion international action which is starting in London on Monday, October 7.

Paul said: "Despite many record-breaking temperatures in the UK this year, climate change can still feel remote as we haven’t felt its worst effects yet.

"But unless we act now, those effects are unstoppable.

"As the government continues to ignore this fact, we feel it necessary to take part in actions of civil disobedience until they finally get it and do something."
