A WREXHAM teenager has reached the semi-final of 'Miss Teen Great Britain 2020'.

Lilly-Anne Gibson, from Ponciau, has won a place in the final stages of the competition - which differs from a beauty pageant in that it is a platform to celebrate teenagers, their achievements and their goals.

Lilly-Anne, 14, will be undertaking a number of fundraisers of the next few months to raise as much as money for Together for Short Lives - a charity for children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions and the one chosen by Miss Teen Great Britain for all contestants to fundraise for in next year's competition.

Some of her fundraising activities will include doing cake sales, walking up Snowdon and cycling around reservoirs.

Lilly-Anne, who attends Ysgol y Grango, said: "I am so excited to have made it to the semi final, it is a great achievement!

"This year I will be raising money for the charity Together for Short Lives, this makes me incredibly proud that I am not only a part of something which is fun but I can get involved and help people in the process.

"Making it to the grand final would be a dream come true – fingers crossed I will be able to represent my hometown and win the Miss Teen Great Britain crown!"

To make it to the semi-final, Lilly-Anne had to but together a resume about her, her life achievements and what she wants to do when she grows up.

And to make it to the final, she will have to successfully undergo a Skype interview.

Teenagers from across Great Britain will compete for the crown in a spectacular grand final, which will be held at The Globe in Blackpool.

The winner of Miss Teen Great Britain will walk away with some incredible prizes – including £1000.

But unlike most pageants, the onus on the weekend of Miss Teen Great Britain is to simply have fun, with the finalists enjoying a Beauty Queen Challenge Day, a pyjama diva party and more.
