A CHESTER man has now pleaded guilty to charges relating to a knife attack outside a Blacon pub.

Ricky Jones, 30, of Earls Court, was due to stand trial at Chester Crown Court on Monday (September 2).

He had previously entered “100 per cent not guilty” pleas to section 18 wounding with intent and possessing a blade.

But on the first day of his trial he admitted a lesser offence of section 20 wounding without intent as well as possessing the knife.

The pleas were deemed acceptable by the Crown Prosecution Service.

The case relates to an incident that happened outside the Waggon & Horses pub in Blacon on April 19 this year when a 30-year-old man sustained a serious injury to his neck.

Jones will be sentenced on October 7.
