MOTORISTS have been warned of potential disruption after a vehicle and trailer "jack knifed" on the M56.
Highways england confirmed at about 4.20pm on Sunday that due to an accident, lanes one and two westbound are closed between junction 12 Clifton, Runcorn, towards junction 14 Hapsford.
North West Motorway Police are assisting and traffic officers are en route.
A spokesman for the motorway police team confirmed the incident involved a vehicle and trailer which "jack knifed".
The spokesman added: "Patrols on scene, appears no injuries at this stage."
