ELLESMERE Port Fire Station is opening its doors to the public this weekend for a free family event that promises something for all ages.
There will be a range of activities offering fun for all the family at the fire station on Wellington Road from 11am-4pm on Saturday, August 31.
Station manager David Rutter said: "This is a great way for the community to discover more about their local fire station and learn about some of the work we undertake.
“Our crews will be doing operational demonstrations throughout the day, including road traffic collisions and kitchen fire displays.
“Visitors will also have the opportunity to look around the station, sit inside a variety of fire and rescue vehicles, including vintage fire engines, and learn about the kit and equipment that our firefighters use.
“We would like as many people as possible to come along to the open day, have a great time and leave with some vital safety messages.”
As part of the event there’ll be a number of displays and community stands, including the Fire Fighters charity, Cheshire Wildlife Trust and Guide Dogs charity.
The event is free to attend and refreshments will be available to buy throughout the day.
