DOZENS of children took part in recycling-related adventures in Broughton.

The Leader previously reported that Broughton shopping and leisure launched free activities to keep kids entertained during the summer holidays.

These nature-themed events are led by costumed characters and will take place from 11am - 4pm each Saturday and Sunday until September 1.

The first activity kick started off on August 10 with ‘BEEBoys’ leading the fun and interactive dancing workshops for kids.

Shoppers were also be joined by the ‘Litter Bugs’, who guide families on a litter-picking adventure, and can take part in sessions with the ‘Eco Explorers’ to learn about the natural world around them.

Alan Barker, centre manager at Broughton Shopping and Leisure, said: “The summer is a busy time for parents and, talking from experience, it can be difficult to keep children occupied.

“Our free events offer the chance to try something a bit different while learning something along the way.

“We can’t wait to see families exploring and dancing their way around the centre.”

Over August bank holiday, families are invited to get their dancing shoes on at the Dragonfly Disco Divas’ silent disco.
