THE show must go on – and it will, as Chester Pride has announced its rescheduled date.

Following the disappointment as a weather warning with high winds forced the postponement of Chester Pride on Saturday, August 10, organisers have now announced a new date for the city's annual LGBT+ festival.

The rearranged date will be Sunday, September 22 and will still feature the parade at noon and a feast of music acts at the M&S Bank Stage at Castle Square from 1pm.

A Chester Pride spokesperson said: "Having worked with Cheshire West and Chester Council, service providers and artist management we are able to make this date work. Full details of the day will be announced over the coming days.

"Chester had shown its support on August 10 and we hope you can once again.

"Our Gofundme page is still active for people to donate to help us with the extra costs of moving the date.

"A decision was taken to reschedule instead of a full cancellation which would have had a huge effect of the viability of future prides in Chester."

People can still donate online via Gofundme at www.gofundme.com/f/save-chester-pride, where thousands of pounds have already been donated.
