A NESTON resident is the latest to come forward claiming she has seen a UFO in the skies above Cheshire West and Chester.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, was prompted to contact The Standard after she read our story about a dog-walker in Malpas who captured a glowing orb on video in May 2017.

The man had been reluctant to speak out for fear of being branded a “barmpot” but his friends urged him to contact this newspaper last week.

His account then led a Vauxhall worker from Ellesmere Port to contact our newsdesk reporting that he had seen three orbs and a cigar-shaped metal object over the Stanlow oil refinery in October 2017.

The latest witness said she sadly had not had the chance to capture what she saw on camera but gave a detailed description.

She also urged people not to be judgemental about people who claim to have seen unidentified objects in the sky – and to keep their eyes peeled for more.

“It was September 28, 2018, a Friday around 11.30am,” she said. “I was hanging out the washing here in Neston and with a busy day ahead I was wishing that I was on the plane that I'd noticed very high overhead travelling from the west to east.

“I then saw something lower in the sky, quite close, towards the west. At first I thought that it was another plane so I didn't take much notice of it. It was a lovely sunny day, blue sky with a few little white clouds. After a few minutes I looked again only to realise that what I had seen didn't appear to have moved.”

To check it was not moving against the backdrop of the drifting clouds she then aligned the object with the side of the tall chimney on the house.

“I was then able to see that the object was definitely stationary,” the woman said.

“The other plane had gone. I carried on hanging out the washing as I was in a bit of a rush but kept looking upwards occasionally and no, it didn't move. It was too high for a helicopter and even so the movement such as it was wasn't right for that. I even turned my back on it for a while as I considered what it might be, still busy with the pegging.

“At that point it seemed to be just a shiny metallic object. I'd finished with the pegging by then so thought I'd get some binoculars for a closer look.”

By the time she had retrieved her binoculars she said she expected the object to have gone, but it was still there.

“It had moved very slightly to the south and wasn't shining quite as it was before,” she said. “Even as I was looking directly at it through the binoculars I was very aware that I didn't really have the right words to describe what I could now see so clearly.

“Whilst I want to say it was circular, like a polo mint, there were no defined edges and any hard metallic look was gone as it seemed to be made of what I can only describe as solid shimmering light.

“There were lights dotted around both the outer and inner rim on both the upper and lower edges. I couldn't tell if they were lights or if the sun was glinting off something on the surface to give that impression. The oddest thing which I find most difficult to describe is the fact that it was tilted, perhaps 45 degrees yet turned slightly towards me but perspective was all wrong, I felt that I shouldn't be able to see so much of it in that position and at that height, no tapering of the sides or anything that we would expect when viewing a 3D object at a distance.

“It then moved very slowly across towards the Dee, went behind a cloud, reappeared, remained immobile for a few minutes until heavier cloud came and it disappeared from view. I was so disappointed!”

She added: “When I told my son about it when he phoned that evening he asked a lot of questions including whether I had been frightened. That didn't occur to me, it was so interesting, I was fascinated by it though of course had it come closer I might not have been quite so enthralled. I probably watched it for 10-15 minutes.

“I'd love to see something like that again so needless to say I'm keeping a good look out! I'll be very interested to read what other local residents have seen and to find if anything matches what I have tried to describe.”
