ON AVERAGE 20,000 people descend on the city of Chester every single raceday, with a high percentage choosing to make their way to the course via public transport or on foot.

Today (Friday, July 12), Chester Racecourse will launch a new raceday initiative to assist racegoers as they make their way to the course.

A new team of Official Racecourse Information Personnel will be stationed at key locations in the city centre, ready to answer any raceday related questions regarding directions, dress-code and ticket availability.

The raceday experience starts from arrival into the city and this new team of Chester Racecourse personnel will have customer experience at the forefront, ready to assist racegoers, aiding their journey and entry into the course.

Chester and District Standard:

Leaflets available to racegoers

The new team will be armed with a list of typical FAQs, as well as leaflets with need-to know information that racegoers can take away.

Racegoers are reminded that Chester Racecourse are the only official seller of Chester Races tickets and it is hoped that this new initiative will help inform those looking to purchase tickets of the correct ticket availability and where to purchase on arrival, whilst discouraging the sale of fraudulent tickets in the areas surrounding the racecourse.

Chester and District Standard:

Information will be provided to racegoers in the city

A number of counterfeit tickets and badges have been seized at point of entry in 2019 and customers are reminded that any tickets bought or issued in breach of the Chester Racecourse ticket terms and conditions (ie. bought from a ticket tout or any other unofficial source) will be classed as void.

Chester Racecourse are taking a hard line on fraudulent ticket purchases. Entry may be refused and legal action may be brought against those found to be in possession of a non-authorised ticket.

The racecourse are keen to take feedback on this new initiative and would encourage racegoers to email any comments post racing to enquiries@chester-races.com
