A FUNDRAISING football game in memory of a much-missed Broughton father-of-two will be making a return to the Airbus UK ground next month.

The third memorial match to be held in tribute to former Airbus employee John 'Badger' Park will be held at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium in Broughton on Sunday, July 7.

Once again, the Badgers Boys squad will be taking on a celebrity-filled team from the Once Upon a Smile charity, featuring famous faces as Emmerdale actor Danny Miller, co-founder of Once Upon a Smile, Royle Family star Ralf Little and former professional footballer Danny Higginbotham.

The football fixture is being held in honour of Airbus employee, father-of-two John 'Badger' Park, who sadly died in February 2017 of a heart attack, having gone to work as normal, at the age of just 53.

Money raised from the event will be split between Once Upon a Smile and the British Heart Foundation.

As well as the football fixture, there will be a raffle and spectators will have the chance to meet the celebrities at Broughton Wings Social Club after the match.

Gates open at 12.30pm, with the match scheduled to kick off at 1.30pm. Tickets, priced £6 for adults, £3 for children under 16 with family tickets (two adults, two children) costing £15, can be purchased in advance online at badgerboys.eventbrite.co.uk (booking fees apply). There is free admission for children aged under two.
