DRIVERS and residents have been warned to expect the possibility of flooding across a large section of North Wales and part of England.

The Met Office has put a yellow weather warning for rain in place across much of the region - including Wrexham, Flintshire, Chester and areas of Denbighshire.

According to the Met Office, this means there could be some flooding and delays to public transport. A spokesman said: "There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

"Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.

"Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

"There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads."

The weather warning is in place until 12noon on Thursday.

A range of advice is available on the Met Office website, including travelling in storms, rain and heavy wind as well as what do do in a flood.
