ALDI has revealed that it will be giving away prizes to the first 250 people in the queue at the opening of its new store in Chester.

The supermarket on Parkgate Road is set to open its doors on Thursday (June 13) from 8am.

To mark the occasion Aldi will be bringing back its Golden Ticket promotion with the likes of pressure washers, pizza ovens and shopping vouchers up for grabs.

Team GB Olympic silver medalist Gemma Gibbons Burton will hand out 250 golden envelopes, each containing a prize.

Exclusive offers will run throughout opening day including Aldi’s Specialbuys and fantastic Super 6 range.

Adam Raby, store manager, said: “The team and I are really looking forward to opening Aldi’s third store in Chester and what better way to welcome our customers than surprising them with a Golden Ticket giveaway. It is set to be a special day and we’re sure that the local community will enjoy the opening celebrations.”

The new store is located on Parkgate Road, Chester, CH1 4BE, and will be open Monday to Saturday 8am-10pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.

Meanwhile, the company's existing store on Bumpers Lane is set to close on Wednesday (June 12) while it is demolished and rebuilt. It is expected to open by next summer.

Donna Denton, store operations director at Aldi, confirmed staff members from Bumpers Lane are being transferred to the new Parkgate Road store. An additional 10 employees have also been recruited.
