CHESTER residents are being warned about scammers posing as RSPCA charity collectors.

There have been several reports from residents in the Great Boughton area of people claiming to be selling raffle tickets on behalf of the animal charity - but police are concerned the scammers could move to other parts of the city.

PCSO Beth George, of Chester Local Policing Unit, said: "We have had several reports of a person/s posing as RSPCA charity collectors in the Great Boughton area. They have been attempting to sell raffle tickets - this is a scam!

"The person/s in question may attempt to sell in other areas so please report to 101 if they visit your address."

If you are a victim of a scam report it to Action Fraud.
