AN UNDERWATER search team is now scanning the River Dee for a pensioner missing for almost two weeks.

Colin Purton has been missing from his home in Penyffordd since Wednesday, May 22.

The 78-year-old was last seen travelling by bus from Mold on the morning of May 23.

An underwater search team has now been drafted as the search continues, police said on Wednesday.

An eye witness said she had seen the search team operating near to Saltney Ferry bridge over the River Dee.

Divers had been searching the River Dee at Saltney Ferry

A North Wales Police spokesman said: "The search for 78 year old Colin Purton continues, and we are being assisted by the Underwater Search Team. Anyone with any information should contact police on 101 quoting ref 25282”.
