A CAR was stolen in Flintshire the day before its owner passed her driving test.

Police said the car - a silver Ford Fiesta, was taken from outside a property in the Sixth Avenue area of Flint in the early hours of May 30.

The car's owner, 20-year-old Lucy Blackwell, ironically passed her driving test the following day.

She explained: "I've had the car about two months but only passed by test on Friday - the day after it was stolen."

Miss Blackwell admits she is dumbfounded as to how the thieves stole the car.

She said: "We are waiting on CCTV from Flint High School. There was no smashed glass, no tyre marks or any sign of a break-in. It’s as if they had a key and had driven it off, like it had just vanished in the night. I have the key to it so I’m not sure how they did it.

"There is a £150 on offer for anyone who can help get it back."

Though likely to have been changed, the car's registration number is BL57 SYA.

A North Wales Police spokesman said: "We were called at 7.58am on May 30 after the theft of a silver Ford Fiesta on Sixth Avenue in Flint.

"Enquries into the incident are ongoing."
