ONLOOKERS were left shocked as a gang of youths pelted ducklings with stones in Flintshire.

The incident occurred at a pond on an area known locally as the common in Buckley on Tuesday.

Resident Pat Shepherd witnessed the incident.

She said: "Well now there is another predator the ducklings have, some youths showing off.

"One of them was actually in the water and I dread to think what he was trying to do.

"Me and another chap walking by caught them throwing stones at the ducklings, and told them in no uncertain terms to stop.

"There was four of them, two lads and two girls.

"A lot of people in Buckley are always looking out for those ducklings on the common, so to see people do that to them is just shocking."

An RSPCA spokesman said: "RSPCA Cymru is very concerned to hear reports that a group of youths have been tormenting and throwing stones at ducklings at a pond in Buckley.
