CHESTER'S brightest and messiest fundraiser is making a return to the racecourse this summer.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd has launched the Foamtastic Colour Blast which will take place on Sunday, August 11, an event sponsored by Oliver & Co Solicitors.

Last year, over 1,000 foamy fundraisers of all ages took part in the incredi-bubble event and raised thousands of pounds for local people with a life-limiting illness.

Phil Crawford, hospice community fundraiser, said: “We’re really excited to bring the Foamtastic Colour Blast back to the Racecourse for 2019!

‘‘It’s an untimed race in which hundreds of people will run, walk, hop, skip, jump or dance to the finish line – the Foamtastic Colour Blast is all about having fun while raising money for your local Hospice.

“You can run on your own, as a family, with friends or colleagues as a way to support the hospice, or do it in memory of someone who has brought colour into your life; our route is child-friendly.

“Online registrations have officially opened but we don’t want people to be disappointed. The event sold out last year so don’t delay, register your place now and take advantage of the early bird offer.”

Entertainment, merchandise and refreshments will add to the atmosphere and spectators are more than welcome.

Early bird prices run until July 2, where entry is £14 per adult and £7.50 per child. Tickets include a Foamtastic Colour Blast t-shirt and medal on completion.

People can register at www.hospicegs.com or visit the hospice's Facebook page for more details.

Now 30 years old, the hospice has an annual running cost of £4.2 million, where less than 25 per cent comes from government funding. The remaining income is generated through fundraising, donations, events and corporate partnerships.
