DETECTIVES are appealing for information from the public after a man sustained a fractured eye socket during an affray in Ellesmere Port.

At around 1.20am on Saturday, May 11, officers were called to reports of an altercation between a large group of men outside the Horse and Jockey public house on Dock Street.

Officers swiftly attended the scene and on arrival the group were found to have moved to the Worcester Street area.

Three men were arrested at the scene; all of who have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

As a result of the incident one of man sustained a fractured eye socket; he was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Detective Sergeant Damian Tierney said: “Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing and we are currently trying to establish exactly what has taken place.

“As part of the investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who believes that may have witnessed the incident or anyone with any information which may aid the investigation.

“Three men have already been arrested as part of the investigation. However we know that there were a number of other people present and we would like to trace them as soon as possible.

“I would also like to hear from anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident.

“The incident itself was prolonged and the group travelled on a number of roads through a busy part of Ellesmere Port. This included walking under the M53 junction 9 before crossing Queen Street and on to Worcester Street.”
