A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of robbery after an incident near a Wirral park.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place near Ashton Park, West Kirby at around 2.50pm on Wednesday.
A mum pushing her baby in a pram was allegedly hit on the head and had her handbag stolen.
Following enquiries, a 57-year-old man from Seacombe was today arrested on suspicion of robbery.
He has been taken to a local police station for questioning.
The police investigation continues.
Inquiries are at an early stage and officers are examining CCTV from the area and speaking with witnesses to establish the full circumstances.
