IT'S all hail to the ale once more as preparations are well underway for the Chester Charity Beer festival.

This year Chester Grosvenor 76 and Ellesmere Port 490 Round Table will be hosting their 31st year annual Charity Beer Festival at Christleton Rugby Club on May 16 to 18.

The event is a fantastic opportunity to sample great beers, ciders.

This year, there will also be a number of food vendors.

A number of local bands will provide music on each night and, this year, the Saturday will be an all-day event.

Chester and District Standard:

The festival will hold raffles each night for different charities, including the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, Ladies Circle, and Round Table with excellent prizes sure to be up for grabs.

With a whole host of real ales, ciders and perries available and this year as well as a selection of wines and gins on offer to try in your free souvenir festival glass, the nights are sure to be merry.

There will be a free bus service each night leaving the Town Hall and Chester Railway Station at 7pm, 7.30pm, and 8pm. These buses will also be available to deliver people back into town later on.

Tickets are £5 for the Thursday night and £10 for Friday or Saturday.
