POLICE are appealing for information after criminals attempted to break open a tomb at St John the Baptist's Church.
City beat officers tweeted today (Wednesday, April 24) that a stone wall has been knocked down and the top of a tomb has been deliberately cut.

It is believed the intent was to access the tomb located at the church in Vicar's Lane, which is a heritage site.
The church was a cathedral in the Middle Ages and is one of the city's most prominent historic sites.
