FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a scrubland blaze.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call shortly before 5.30pm on Sunday reporting the blaze near Poole Road in Brymbo.

One crew from Wrexham attended the scene and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.

Fire damage was caused to 75 square metres of gorse.

A spokesman for the service said the cause was deliberate ignition.
