A TOWN in Flintshire is set to launch a safety hub in the battle to create safer streets for residents.

The launch of the 'Mold Safety Hub' will take place at 11am on Friday 26 at the Daniel Owen Centre.

The Rt Hon Lord Barry Jones will be in attendance to officially open the hub and the Online Watch Link Team (OWL), a volunteer neighbourhood watch scheme based at Mold police station, and North Wales Police representatives will also be in attendance.

The OWL Cymru Mold Safety Hub will be implemented to help in building community resilience and support the safety and wellbeing of older and vulnerable people. There are crime prevention products available to purchase, volunteering opportunities, doorstep crime and safety clinics at the hub, along with the opportunity to meet with the 50+ engagement worker.

On the day of the launch, there will be light refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits courtesy of Mold Mayor, Karen Hodgkinson.

Anyone wishing to attend this event are urged to register either by telephone on 01352 708118 or by email to watch@owlcymru.org, specifying how many persons will be attending.
